Having received an order from Svitzer for 2 towboats with a bollard pull of 75 tons, Med Marine delivered the first towboat Svitzer Port Said 3.
In February 2022, Med Marine received an order from Svitzer for 2 towboats with such functions as fire extinguishing and escorting and delivered the first of them. Built in Ereğli Shipyard, the towboat will be serving in the Suez Canal.
The MED-A2885 class, 28.40 meters long towboat, named Svitzer Port Said 3, is based on RAstar 2800 design of Robert Allan Ltd. The second one of the towboats with a bollard pull of 75 tons is expected to be delivered at the end of this month.
Med Marine Sales Manager Melis Üçüncü said, “We are happy to deliver this vessel to our very precious business partner Svitzer. We are looking forward to our future cooperation with them in many other projects”.
