Sanmar signed an agreement with the UK-based SMS Towage for the sale of Sırapınar series towboats. This agreement has been recorded as the first one signed by Sanmar in 2022.
SMS Towage is expanding its fleet with Sırapınar XV tug which was built in 2020 and is currently part of Sanmar fleet. The company whose fleet already includes 11 towboats by Sanmar shall now purchase the third tug from Sırapınar series. SMS Towage had previously added to its fleet two other Sırapınar tug, namely Pullman and Lloydsman built in 2017.
Sırapınar XV, a tug based on the design named RAmparts 2200 by the Canadian naval architects Robert Allan Ltd, offers maximum efficiency with a bollard pull power of 54 tons. The tug has a full length of 22.40 meters and a maximum speed of 12 knots.
