As a result of research and development works started almost three years ago by ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense, prototype production of Turkey’s first armed unmanned naval which was started to be manufactured in Antalya has been completed. The vehicle has been launched to the sea and it has started its trial cruises.
SIDA produced with developed composite material will be able to be used in execution of duties such as exploration, monitoring and intelligence, surface wars, asymmetrical war, armed escort and force protection and strategic facility security from mobile vehicles and military quarters operations center in land or from floating platforms.
The vehicle is equipped with four Laser Guided Missile CİRİT pods and two Laser Guided Long-Range Anti-Tank Missile System (L-UMTAS) Launchers which are products of national missile systems manufacturer ROKETSAN.
