Aarhus Port and Uzmar announced in May last year that they signed a contract for the building of the IMO Tier III tugboat of RAmparts 3000 series. Hermes, a tugboat built under the contract, was launched at the Uzmar Shipyard with a ceremony.
The new ASD tugboat Hermes, which will substitute the Hermes, 40-year old tugboat of Aarhus Port, was built eco-friendly and with high-performance as well as offers a higher bollard pull.
Built in accordance with IMO Tier III requirements, the new Hermes, with a 65-ton bollard pull, was designed by world-renowned marine architect Robert Allan Ltd. It has a length overall of 30 meters and is equipped with two 2013kw engines.
