Yaf Diesel servicing in the field of ship equipment and spare parts, signed an important 5 vessels agreement with Mercan Group.
Mercan Group came to an agreement with Yaf Diesel for Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS). Mercan Group, which serves in chemical and oil tanker industry, preferred BSKY branded Ballast Water Treatment Systems of Yaf Diesel for its vessels named Aleyna Mercan and other vessels in its fleet.
BSKY BWMS purifies ballast water using UV after filtration treatment with hydrocyclone. Hydrocyclone utilizes from centrifugal force created by means of cyclone movement given to the water to filter and allows filtering pollutants whose specific gravity is heavier than water. In addition, Yaf Diesel guarantees hydrocyclone system as much as life of vessel.
This system which was activated with aim of limiting and controlling pollutions caused by vessels, was accepted by IMO MEPC with the purpose of preventing ecological disturbance by being carried out area different organisms in water which is discharged into sea via ballast operations of vessels. The shipowners must invest substantially for system which will fully become a part of an activity as of the year 2020.
